On October 16, 2019, members of the Library Copyright Alliance (LCA) filed an amicus brief in support of Public Resource. LCA members argued for preservation of the comprehensive government edicts doctrine, which provides an essential safe harbor from potential copyright liability for libraries as they fulfill their role of preserving and providing access to the cultural record.
